The 4-1-1 on College and Careers @ your library:
Teen Financial Literacy
The Pinellas Public Library Cooperative has partnered with Bank of America, Junior Achievement, and the Pinellas County Sheriff's PAL (Police Athletic League) program to present our fourth year of teen financial literacy programs in Pinellas County. Through the award of a Bank of America Foundation grant, our libraries will host programs for teens in April, May and June 2009 at twelve library locations. Programs will be hosted at member libraries throughout Pinellas and will include programming for high school-aged teens.
Each library will host a program that will assist teenagers in the transition to college or technical school after graduation and explore information on career choices, budgeting, importance of credit, student loans and overall understanding of solid financial awareness for their futures. Our partner, Junior Achievement, has established curriculum in conjunction with Bank of America.
All programs will include incentives, giveaways, and financial games to strengthen the importance of financial literacy and essential life skills. Participants will also receive FREE meals during the two-hour long sessions. Come and join us as we launch our new year of valuable financial literacy programming for youth in Pinellas County.
Please call to register, spaces are limited. For more information, please contact Paula Godfrey at the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative office at (727) 441-8408.
