1. Call to Order:
   Mike Jefferis, Chairperson called the Board Meeting to order at 3:30 pm.
2. Roll Call:
   Martha Frenchek conducted Roll Call.
   Present: Mike Jefferis, Karen LaCorte-Nies, J.P. Gellermann, Veronica Ettel, Sean Gaffney, Angela Pietras, Cheryl Morales, Martha Frenchek, and David McMurrin. A quorum was represented.
   Absent: Nancy McKibben and Maggie Paluch.
   Guest Speaker: Leslie Moran, Talking Book Library.
3. Minutes from October 30, 2024, Board Meeting were accepted as presented (Pietras/Gaffney).
4. Monthly Financial Committee Report:
   1. Level Four Management Report: October 2024
   2. PDR Account Financial Statement: October 2024
   3. LaCorte-Nies stated that the Financial Committee has no recommendations to report to the
      Board regarding any changes to the portfolio structure. Morales will present options for changes
      to the Unrestricted Funds account (currently held in bonds) in January. LaCorte-Nies also noted
      that all finances are in order.
5. Correspondence: None
   Jefferis acknowledged the passing of former Board Member, Karen Roth. After some discussion about recognition for Roth, the Board decided to work with Largo Library. Morales will present options in January.
6. Executive Director’s Report – Cheryl Morales
   1. Building/Admin.

      2. Continued collaboration with the LDAC Public Services policy committee
   2. Countywide Services / Member Libraries
      1. Disaster recovery status of closed libraries and collaborations was reported
         1. Clearwater Beach Branch – estimated re-opening in September
         2. Gulf Beaches Library- waiting for permit approval to complete restoration
         3. Indian Rocks Beach Library (non-member) planning reconstruction
      2. DLC and TBL reports included in the Agenda packet
   3. Executive Director Activities-since August Board Meeting:

      Morales presented the PPLC 2024 Annual Report, in print and projected.
   2. Spotlight on PPLC’s Talking Book Library (TBL)
      Leslie Moran, from the Talking Book Library, highlighted the library’s services. During the presentation and tour, Moran demonstrated the following tools:
      1. Digital talking book player
      2. US Currency Reader
      3. BARD Mobile App
      4. SCRIBE for downloading digital talking books to cartridges

10. Announcements/Miscellaneous:
    1. Jefferis announced that November 29, 2024, will be Mika Nelson’s last day. Mika is the Director of the St. Petersburg Library System. A replacement has not yet been identified.
