    1. Staff from Palm Harbor Library gave an overview of the DEIA SIG
    2. The group does significant outreach such as during St. Pete Pride and SPIFFS (St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society)
    3. Recently they have been discussing their mission, vision, goals and outreach plans
    4. They meet the second Wednesday of each month, usually at PPLC
    5. Next meeting: November 12
  5. Old Business
    1. Vote on changes to PPLC Public Services Policy (Dave McMurrin)
    2. Dave shared the update policy with some sections highlighted for discussion
    3. It was determined that the committee (Cheryl, Dave, Matthew and Phyllis) would reconvene to review the document again and resubmit to LDAC
    4. Abstentions in voting (Glenn)
    5. There was some discussion as to whether or not LDAC members can abstain from any votes; the bylaws state that not all members are required
  6. New Business
    1. Britney Norsworthy was welcomed as the newest member of LDAC
    2. Glenn brought up the possibility of a Marketing SIG; marketing is an important part of the new PPLC strategic plan; the connection between marketing and advocacy was discussed; Cheryl will pursue an Advocacy SIG, with an early focus on Library Legislative Day
    3. Glenn brought up the possibility of a Tax Prep discussion group; it was determined that the Adult Services SIG would take it on

    1. New Museum Passes: Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA), Seminole Historical Museum, Sunken Gardens, Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center
    2. Available soon: Penny Lane, the ultimate Beatle Museum
    3. St. Pete Beach added Glazer Children’s Museum for $1,500
    4. Blue Cloud Training
    5. Email Matt O. to get access to the class
    6. Staff Development Day had positive survey results, 250 in attendance
    7. Sirsi support is available for transition from B&TR services (for a fee)
    8. Annual Statistical Report – PPLC deadline was 11-21-25; Matt sent a detailed list of what PPLC will fill in for us

    1. Annual evaluation for Cheryl was conducted, strategic plan was finalized, and budget was approved

      1. Their neighbor the Toronto Blue Jays went to the world series
      2. Building projects such as interior painting are in the works
      3. Library staff will participate in the local Holiday Parade
    3. East Lake
      1. The RFP for the expansion design is now open
      2. Lois is planning to retire in March
      3. Gulf Beaches
      4. Using Ingram for book fulfillment
      5. Working on flood prevention/mitigation solutions
    4. Gulfport

      1. Evaluating additional vendors such as Brodart, Ingram and others
      2. Retreat upcoming for City Directors and Commission
      3. They are shopping around for a new business to run the cafe
      4. Registration is full for the author event (Sarah Penner) on 11/6/25

      1. The Historical Society collections are in the process of moving into the library building by mid-December
      2. A recent clothing swap event was very popular
      3. A local author event is planned for 12/6/25
    7. Palm Harbor
      1. PHL has made the switch to Ingram after B&T closed its doors
      2. On 10/10/25, PHL hosted Kate McDowell to conduct a training in Data Storytelling for library staff and other area leaders
      3. On 1/23/26, PHL will host the 9th annual artPHL Evening event/fundraiser with art-in-motion demonstrations by local artists, food, wine, music, and a silent auction
    8. Pinellas Park
      1. Installing hurricane-resistant windows
      2. The Pinellas Park Art Society (founded in 1964) is disbanding
      3. Safety Harbor
      4. Using Ingram and Brodart (McNaughton) to replace B&T
      5. Working on a long-range plan
      6. Planning a fundraiser (mini-golf)
    9. St. Petersburg
      1. There were 2,000 visits the first weekend of the Obama Main Library reopening
      2. An open house will be held 11/15/25
      3. They have created commemorative cards to celebrate the opening
    10. St. Pete Beach
      1. Purchased a Zenbooth, a quiet space for one or two people
      2. Renovation in process – shifting materials
      3. Relocating director office closer to staff to increase safety access
    11. Seminole
      1. Created a small gallery space under the stairwell; the official launch will be in January 2026
    12. Tarpon Springs
      1. Current renovation to conclude in early 2026
      2. Working on a strategic plan
