Career Online High School

PPLC libraries participate in the Career Online High School (COHS) program.

This program offers adults (19 and older) the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate online. Each library offers a limited number of scholarships to qualified adult learners who are looking to advance their careers, prepare for workforce entry, and continue their education. Applicants who successfully complete an Are You Ready Survey, a prerequisite course, and an in-person interview will be considered for enrollment.

The core classes consist of the following subjects: English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. In addition, students will choose from the following career certificates in these high-growth, high-demand career fields and complete coursework to develop the skills and knowledge that employers are looking for:

In addition to earning a career certificate, Career Online High School gives graduates the tools and information needed to seek employment in their fields, including:

  • Biweekly online seminars that focus on 21st-century skills
  • Monthly career webinars that prepare you for workplace realities and job markets
  • Career portfolio lessons that teach business writing and help you create career documents including a cover letter and resume
