Using Historical Literature to Explore Your Ancestor’s Lives

September 18 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Historical literature, both fiction and non-fiction, can help us to better understand the world in which our ancestors lived and the events that shaped their lives. This presentation looks at how to use historical literature to flesh out the stories of our ancestors and provides examples to show what can be learned. Karen Fortin received a Bachelors Degree in History and a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. She worked at the Barbara S. Ponce Public Library in Pinellas Park, FL for 30 years before deciding to focus on genealogical research.
