Can’t make it to the library for an event? Here are some things you can do on YOUR time! Also included is information about each library’s Summer Reading Program.
Clearwater Public Library
Kids and Teens: Explore an Ocean of Possibilities with Beanstack this summer! Log the days you have read to earn badges and rewards. Keep logging reading daily during the summer. Every 5 days you will be eligible for a special prize. Visit your Clearwater Library often to redeem prizes.
Adults: Log the days you read and complete activities in order to earn tickets to enter into prize drawings. Prizes include: Day passes to Zoo Tampa, Passes for Little Toot Dolphin Adventure Cruise, Congo River Golf Rounds of Mini Golf, Passes to Clearwater Marine Aquarium, $10 Starbucks Gift Card.
Fun with Felt: a Take and Make (East Branch)
Stop by the Clearwater East Community Library for a Take-and-Make craft! Each month we will create a different felt craft. Supplies provided. Share your completed project by messaging us via the library Facebook page or show a librarian. *Needles are not included. Please pick up your kit inside the Clearwater East Community Library or at the branch’s drive-thru anytime from the first Monday to the first Saturday of each month. Unclaimed kits will be offered to patrons on the waitlist.

We are pleased to present the East Lake High School’s most talented art students! This exhibition will feature work from the Juniors and Seniors of the 2-D and 3-D Advanced Placement Art classes, as well as works from the Portfolio Development classes. June 6 to July 30
Children & Teens: As you read books and complete the activities, you will earn badges, and prizes, and will be entered into the grand prize drawing at the end of summer! Track your progress using the library’s Beanstack website or Tracker app available for iOS and Android.

Books For Bites (School Year Reading Incentive)
For Ages 13-17. October 1, 2021 – May 31, 2022. Read and review 5 books for snack coupons you can use at the cafe! Pick up a review pack at the Teen Desk.
Ages 8-12. Stop by the children’s department to pick up a mystery book packet. Each packet will contain a mystery children’s fiction book and some other fun surprises inside! These will be limited in quantity for children and only while supplies last. Limit of 2 per household. Child must be present for pickup. From 6/1 to 7/30.
Ages 12 and under. There are tracks all over the Children’s Department! Count how many of each paw print there are for a chance to win a prize!
Pokemon© have taken over the Library! Count how many Pokemon© there are and earn a gym badge for counting ‘em all. Every two weeks, a new Pokemon© type will take over the children’s department and you can earn a new badge! Ongoing thru 5/31.
Summer Shenanigans – Week of Giveaways!
Ages 12 and Under. The school year is over, and we are kicking off summer with a week of giveaways! Check out our Youth Services Facebook Group to see all the neat giveaways we have shared! With new giveaways posted daily for ages 12 and under, there are tons of prizes to be won! Make sure to enter any giveaways that catch your attention. Winners will be tagged in the original post on Facebook. During the week of 6/6 to 6/10.
Teen Summer Challenge
Ages 12-18. This summer, challenge yourself to read and play s’more! Sign up on the Beanstack app* where you can explore reading and activity goals, log your progress, and win prizes all summer long. Registered teens can claim a free book at the Teen Desk once signed up and will be entered into the end of summer grand prize drawing. For more info or help with registration, email email@example.com. *Alternative paper logs available if needed. From 6/6 to 7/30.
Ages 12-18. Book boxes are back! The boxes include a free book, some fun freebies, and tasty treats. Stop by the Teen Room to pick your favorite from our menu. First come, first serve, and teens must be present! 30 options available, one box per person. June pickup begins on 6/10. July pickup starts on 7/8.
Spectacular Summer Fun
Ages 12 and Under. Write down your favorite summer activity on summer themed paper and hang it up on the program room windows! Read through the ones listed and maybe you will find some fun new activities to check out! From 6/1 to 6/30.
Beyond the Beaten Path, there are forest animals and other camp-themed objects hiding all over the children’s department. Look around for them and write down the letters found next to them to decipher their message to you. Messages change every two weeks. All correct messages will be entered for a prize. From 6/1 to 7/30.

Palm Harbor Library
Registration for all summer 2022 reading clubs and events begins on Saturday, June 4. Register for events in-person or online (online spots are limited). Kid’s Reading Club registration runs thru 7/16. Completing requirements of the club earns kids a free book of choice, small prize, certificate, raffle entry, and more!
Adult Reading Club runs thru 8/13. Completing the requirements of the Club earns adults a free book, entries for the weekly drawing of their choice, and a drawing entry for our Grand Prize.
The Grand Prize winner will be announced at our Adult Summer Reading Club Luncheon (separate registration) along with giving out the Reading Awards.

Explore Oceans of Possibilities with Beanstack this summer! Log the minutes you read to earn badges and rewards. You also have the option to login through the Beanstack app available for iOS and Android. Go to the library’s Beanstack page to register for Summer Reading.
Children: (Ages 5-8) The first 25 kids to sign up for summer reading and come to the library will receive a goody bag! Visit the children’s desk at the library to collect your prizes after earning your rewards at 12 and 24 hours read. At 24 hours read, you will be entered into a raffle for the Grand Prize, a new children’s bike and helmet! Don’t stop logging! The reader who logs the most amount of time read will win a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble.

Little Free Library Scavenger Hunt
Pick up an instruction sheet at the library or download from event.safetyharborlibrary.org. Visit Little Free Libraries, solve clues, win prizes.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
For Ages 0-5. Enjoy reading 1,000 books with your little ones! Create an online account on Beanstack and log reading to earn badges. Come to the Youth Services desk to celebrate their achievement by collecting a small reward (stickers, toys, books) for every 100 books read.
Children’s Pen Pals
We are partnering with the Eagle Public Library in Utah to match children with a pen pal. Registration Required.
American Girl Doll Raffle
Fill out a raffle ticket at the library to win a Melody Ellison doll at the end of the summer. June 6 thru July 30.
Kids Cooking to Go: Under the Sea Dessert Cups
Monday, June 27. Take home materials to make delicious sea themed dessert cups. Registration required.
Youth Ocean Photography Contest

2022 Reads Under the Sea
Rising 1st graders and older (including adults!) are invited to participate in our Summer Reading adventure. Each week for eight weeks, complete a specific reading activity to spin Captain Nemo’s Wheel for a chance to win a prize. Each week’s spin also earns the participant a special pin and an entry into a drawing for one of three identical Grand Prize packs. Everyone who completes at least three reading activities will receive a customizable bookplate at the end of the program. Visit the 2nd floor Information Desk for instructions, rules, and an Activity Book.
Rising 9th graders and older (including adults!) are invited to play our Summer Reading game. Adults: Adults (18+) Pick up a summer reading bingo card at our summer reading table. Once you get Bingo turn the card in you’ll be entered into a random prize drawing at the end of summer. From June 6 to August 6.
Youth: (Ages birth to 12). Pick up a reading log and keep track of how much you read each week by shading in a sea creature. Return the completed reading log back to the library for a free book and a prize. From June 6 to August 6.
