  3. Presentation by Andy Bucher, Overdrive Account Manager
    1. Andy presented on Advantage Plus Accounts and Cost Per Circ (CPC)
    2. Advantage “allows members of a consortium to offer additional titles exclusively for their patrons” and Advantage Plus “allows Advantage members to expand access to their Advantage titles, by either sharing them with or moving them to the shared collection”
    3. The following locations already have Advantage accounts:
      1. Clearwater, Dunedin, Gulfport, Oldsmar, Palm Harbor, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, St. Pete Beach, St. Petersburg, Seminole, and Tarpon
      2. Dunedin, Gulfport, Palm Harbor, and St. Pete Beach libraries have not yet used their accounts.
      3. Safety Harbor and Tarpon Springs have their accounts set up to share their Advantage collections after the initial usage period. 
      4. East Lake, Gulf Beaches, and Largo do not have accounts. 
    4. Cost Per Circ (CPC)
      1. We can add a specific budget with a ceiling cost so CPC titles can circulate without going over

      1. PHL staff gave a presentation on its Arts focus and led the group on a tour of the library
      2. SPIFFS (St. Pete International Folk Fair) will take place February 20-22, 2025; PPLC is tabling and still looking for volunteers; 4,000 students expected to attend

        1. Time was discussed and it was agreed that it would remain at 1:30 p.m.
  6. New Business
    1. St Petersburg – commemorative card
      1. President Barack Obama Main Library construction will be completed in June and will be followed by a commemorative library card
      2. Safety Harbor is also planning commemorative cards following their renovation
    2. Handling Items with Pests (Jennifer)
      1. One patron often returns items infested with roaches
      2. Possible steps were discussed: suspending borrowing privileges (which is at the discretion of the library director) or requiring proof that the individual’s residence has been treated (pest control)
      3. Dunedin had a similar issue with two members which they addressed with a one month ban and then limit of five checkouts at a time
    3. Hold Time for Damaged Items
      1. How long do we hold damaged items for patrons who have paid or will pay for them? This was discussed and determined that it will be at the discretion of individual libraries.
  7. PPLC Topics
    1. New Museum Partners (Cari)
      1. Cari: as of 1-2-25, Heritage Museum and Safford House passes are available
      2. Cheryl: Museum of Motherhood is a potential museum partner Their ribbon cutting is on 1-17-25, located on 2169 Fairfield Ave in St. Pete. 
      3. Cheryl will visit and evaluate the museum as a prospective partner
    2. CSLP and Summer Reading 2025
      1. State library is not providing funding for CSLP membership or resources
      2. PPLC is covering the cost ($8,000) for Pinellas libraries this year only
      3. Currently the state library does not have a FLYP (Florida Library Youth Program) coordinator
    3. FEL MARC record integration in Enterprise -demo
      1. Dino demonstrated this LDAC request as an alternate search function outside of our catalog, with a drop-down menu on the side – potentially with separate searches (databases and eBooks)
      2. Glenn is going to research more options for LDAC and PPLC to consider
    4. BC Mobile App. -update
      1. There will be a pilot group for the new mobile app
      2. The new app will have links for individual locations’ social media, room reservations, and event calendars
